BEFORE KICKOFF

Build your team

The app’s Quick Start walks you through Roster, Game Settings, Season, and Game—in that order.

  1. Add your roster. Enter your Team Name, type a player’s name, and tap Add Player. Repeat for everyone on your team, then tap Continue to Game Settings.
  2. Choose your format. Select 5 vs 5, 6 vs 6, or 7 vs 7. The default is 6 vs 6.
  3. Name your season. Use something recognizable, like “Fall 2026,” to keep your games together.
  4. Create your first game. Enter a game name, then tap Open Live Game.

You can update the roster later. For your next game, open Game Setup and tap Add Game.

AT THE FIELD

Get game-ready

Check who’s here, then tell the tracker who’s playing the next snap.

  1. Confirm attendance. In Game Setup, find Players at This Game and uncheck anyone who is absent. Everyone starts as present.
  2. Choose Offense or Defense. Return to Live Game and select the side you’re tracking.
  3. Select your lineup. Under Who Is on the Sideline?, tap the players sitting out. The selection count tells you when the lineup is ready.

With 10 players present in 6v6, select 4 for the sideline. To substitute, uncheck a selected player, then choose the player coming off.

Larger roster? When attendance is more than twice your game format—over 12 players in 6v6—the prompt switches to Who Is on the Field?. Select the players going in.

DURING THE GAME

Track each play

Set the lineup, record what happened, and check who needs the next opportunity.

When you’re on offense

Under Record a Ball Touch, tap the player who carried the ball or was targeted.

  • Record RunCredits one run and one touch to the selected runner.
  • Record PassCredits one pass target and one touch to the selected receiver, including an incomplete pass.
  • Record No TouchRecords field and sideline participation without giving a player a touch.

A center’s snap and a quarterback’s exchange do not add extra touches.

When you’re on defense

Switch to Defense, confirm the lineup, and tap Record Defensive Play. You can credit one player under Who Pulled the Flag? before recording; this is optional.

6 field and 4 sideline appearances will be recorded.

Example: select Riley, then tap Record Pass to credit Riley with a target.

Made a mistake? Fix the play.

Tap Undo to remove the last recorded play. For an earlier play, use Open Play History in the game breakdown, then edit that play.

Playing time is measured in plays. Offensive and defensive field-play counts show participation. Touches show ball opportunities. Review both before deciding who goes in or gets the next run or target.

AFTER THE FINAL WHISTLE

Review & share

Turn the game’s totals into a clearer plan for next week.

  1. Finish the game. Tap End Game and confirm. The game and its totals are kept. Add your next game separately in Game Setup.
  2. Review participation. Open Summary from the menu to review your team dashboard. Compare touches, runs, passes, and offensive and defensive field plays. Tap column headings to sort the totals.
  3. Share with families. The team owner can tap Team Dashboard below the stats to open sharing controls. Select the season, tap Enable Team Dashboard if needed, then Copy Team Link.

Families can view the shared dashboard without an account. The link is read-only; anyone with it can see player names and stats for that season.

Your game-day checklist

  • Set your roster, game format, season, and game before kickoff.
  • Sign in on your game-day device and check attendance.
  • Charge your phone or tablet before heading to the field.
  • Try a few practice plays, then clear them with Reset Game in Game Setup before the real game.
  • Ask an assistant tracker to help so you can keep coaching.

Reset Game removes all plays and statistics from the selected game. Use it only when you’re ready to clear those practice entries.

A few things coaches ask

Why can’t I record a run or pass?

Check the lineup selection count first. You need the correct number of field or sideline players selected, then one runner or pass target. For a play without a credited ball opportunity, use Record No Touch.

Does Champion Tracker choose my rotations?

You choose the lineup and substitutions. Champion Tracker keeps field plays and touches visible to help you make those decisions. Use the rotation chart to plan ahead.

Can I put the tracker on my home screen?

Yes. Open the tracker’s menu and choose Add to Home Screen when available for device-specific instructions. You can continue using Champion Tracker in your browser too.

How do I plan touches for my whole roster?

Use the Play & Touch Calculator to estimate your offensive plays and a whole-touch split. Then use the live totals to adjust as the game unfolds.
